Sophie Hodges
Lead Data Engineer,
The Health Economics Unit
Hello! I’m a Lead Data Engineer at the Health Economics Unit, an NHS consultancy aiming to provide evidence-based data, analysis and health economic insights. I have worked on lots of interesting projects across healthcare – examples include: supporting COPD resourcing decisions in 5 ICSs, modelling patient flow in emergency departments, demand and capacity modelling for hospital specialties, and training local healthcare teams (subjects include: Population Health Management, Socio-Technical Allocation of Resources, and Complex Adaptive Systems).
Prior to working at the HEU, I worked in the national Population Health Management team at NHS England, the Economics team at the Health Foundation and the Intelligence Team at Doncaster CCG. I have a masters in Health Data Analytics from UCL, and my undergrad is Economics with Econometrics from the University of Kent.
